Project Overview
Modernized a Simpsonville master bathroom with ~140 sq ft of new porcelain tile flooring, a custom 96-inch vanity stack with center tower and two sink bases, quartz countertops with undermount sinks, an updated tub surround tied to the shower tile, and full electrical and ventilation upgrades.
The Challenge
The original master bath had a dated single vanity, mismatched tub surround tile, and electrical that didn't fit how the family actually used the room — including no outlet in the water closet for a future bidet or smart toilet. The Ketners wanted a true two-sink vanity, more storage, and a coordinated look between the tub area and the shower.
Our Solution
We pulled the existing flooring across the bathroom, water closet, and closet, then installed roughly 140 square feet of new porcelain tile flooring with matching quarter round throughout. The custom 96-inch vanity stack — two sink bases flanking a full-height center tower — went in next, topped with quartz countertops and undermount sinks. We relocated two outlets into the closet, added an outlet in the water closet for a future bidet or smart toilet, and installed a recessed light/exhaust combo above the shower and a light/exhaust combo in the water closet. New vanity lighting and mirrors went in over the new vanity. The old tub surround tile was demoed and re-tiled to match the existing shower walls so the room reads as one coordinated space, finished with new Moen tub hardware, a new toilet, accessories, and painted trim.

Frequently Asked Questions
What was the major upgrade?
Flooring, the 96-inch custom vanity stack, quartz countertops, mirrors, vanity lighting, electrical (outlets relocated and added), ventilation (two new fan/light combos), and the tub surround tile — all coordinated so the bathroom reads as one space instead of pieces from different decades.
Were electrical upgrades included?
Yes. We moved two outlets into the closet for clean lines outside the vanity, added an outlet in the water closet for a future bidet or smart toilet, and installed new lighting and ventilation throughout. All on permit.
Why match the tub surround to the shower?
Most 1990s and 2000s Upstate master baths have the tub surround in one tile and the shower in another — even when both were original. Re-tiling the tub to match the shower is one of the highest-impact, lowest-cost moves you can make in a master bath remodel.
